WESTON, Fla. – The Texas Southern Women’s Golf team is back on the road this weekend as they compete in the inaugural Arcis HBCU Collegiate Golf Championship hosted by Arcis Golf.

The Tigers finished in ninth place at the ASU Spring Classic hosted by Alabama State University earlier this week. Senior Lyla Vaughn and junior Alexa Gonzalez were the Tigers’ top finishers as they tied for 24th place with a two-day total of 166.

The inaugural Arcis HBCU Collegiate Golf Championship will occur at The Club at Weston Hills where the student-athletes will be competing on The Players Course. The event will showcase 17 HBCU men’s and women’s golf teams in three rounds of competition starting with 36 holes on Sunday and the final round of 18 holes on Monday.

Arcis Golf – the second largest owner and operator of private, resort and daily fee golf facilities in the United States – provides ongoing opportunities for HBCU golfers to practice and hone their skills at approximately 70 clubs across the country. This ensures HBCU student-athletes have dedicated places to practice and play beyond the tournament schedule and/or their collegiate home courses.”
