PRATTVILLE, Ala. – Texas Southern Women’s Golf team finished in ninth place at the ASU Spring Classic opening round hosted by Alabama State University this week.

Senior Lyla Vaughn and junior Alexa Gonzalez were the Tigers’ top finishers as they tied for 24th place with a two-day total of 166. The ASU Spring Classic took place at the Robert Trent Jones Trail – Capitol Hill on The Judge Course and was scheduled to be a 54-hole tournament, however, day one was shortened to 18 holes due to inclement weather. As a result, the Classic was shortened to 36 holes of play over two days.

The Tigers are back on the road this weekend as they gear up to compete in the inaugural Arcis HBCU Golf Championship in Weston, FL.
