PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla.- Amber Kuykendall placed 3rd at the 32nd PGA Minority Collegiate Championship.
The PGA Minority Collegiate Championship is the most culturally significant championship in collegiate golf.
The tournament is a 54-hole, stroke-play Championship contested in four-team divisions: NCAA Men's Division I, Men's Division II, Men's NAIA and an overall Women's Division.
In addition, there is an individual division for minority men and women who are listed on the roster of their college team or are part of the PGA of America's PGA Golf Management University programs.
In a weather-related quirk designed to get ahead of the heavy rains forecasted to arrive from Mother Nature on Mother's Day, the final round actually began on Saturday, as all golfers played 27 holes overall, including the first nine holes of the Championship's final stanza.
The final nine holes were completed on Sunday morning in slightly rainy and muggy conditions. Amber played the final nine holes at 2 over par and moved into a 3rd place finish for the tournament to close out her junior year as a Lady Tiger.
