HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Lady Tigers Volleyball team has signed defensive specialist Alexis Praytor (Mansfield, Texas), middle blockers, Jada Hall (Grand Prairie, Texas) and April Brown (Tyler, Texas), outside hitters, Neena Brenson (Conroe, Texas) and Madison Fite (Tatum, Texas), opposite and middle blocker, Talya Monroe (Stafford, Texas) and setter Autumn Godsey (Mansfield, Texas).
"We are very excited about this versatile class," said TSU head coach Jocelyn Adams. "They are just the right pieces we feel we need to move us forward in our conference."

Praytor comes to Texas Southern, holding a single season dig record in 2017, 2016 Defensive MVP, Team captain and most impressively her Academic Honor roll from 2014-17. She was a 2016 5A Volleyball Regional Semi- Finalist, 5A Regional Quarterfinalist 2017 and 5A Co- District Champs in 2017. She played her club volleyball with 360 Volleyball, Texas Image and NRG.

Hall is a versatile talent that has played numerous positions and can command the court from pin to pin. She is athletic and has been named 1st and 2nd team All District throughout her high school career. Hall's academic excellence makes her a tough opponent to figure out because she is constantly thinking. She is a four year member of the National Honor Society, the A-B and All-A honor roll.

"We are looking for great things from Jada at Texas Southern," said Adams. "She played her club volleyball with NRG and most recently with Texas Image."

Brown is a formidable middle blocker and presence at 6'1 and will bring the size the Lady Tigers have been looking for. She is explosive and her arsenal of net shots will keep opponents guessing. April has been 1st team All District for three years, KETK athlete of the week and a four year varsity letter winner. She was also a member of the East Texas All Star team and played her club ball at East Texas Juniors.

Brenson, at 5'10 will play the outside and can handle herself defensively as a six rotation player. The Conroe High School volleyball outstanding athlete hits hard and will give opponents trouble. She can make an impact from day one and the TSU coaching staff is very excited about her future.

"Neena brings a lot of athleticism to the outside position and has multiple shots she can choose from," said Adams.

Fite has fought back from adversity with injuries and she will be a force at the outside or right side position. She has a great work ethic and has been selected as Academic All District for four years, Academic All State in 2017, first team All-District, Newcomer of the Year, District 4A MVP and to the East Texas Volleyball Super team. Her versatility and explosiveness will help TSU at the outside position. She played her club ball at East Texas Juniors.

Monroe has a quiet presence but can play the MB or OPP position. She will add defensively to the program at 6"1 by making herself known early as a force to reckon with. She was named Academic All District for three years, varsity volleyball from 2014-17. She is also an accomplished Choir member and a 2016 Texas State UIL Solo- Ensemble Gold Medalist. She played her cub ball at Houston Skyline Juniors.

Godsey is a utility athlete who has a very good volleyball IQ. She will set for the Lady Tigers and will be looked upon to run the court effectively when given the opportunity. She has the ability to fill in where needed and that makes her an athlete opponents will find difficult to scout. She was TGCA Academic All State 2017-2018, Mansfield H.S, and Utility Player of the Year, 1st Team All District, 6A Volleyball Bi- District Champs and 2016 AAU Outstanding Athlete.
