HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss Golden Eagles defeated the Texas Southern Lady Tigers 7-0 on Friday at the USM Track and Field and Soccer Complex.
For Southern Miss, their 7-0 victory over Texas Southern was their second consecutive 7-0 victory this season. USM was also able to defeat the ULM Warhawks 7-0 prior to facing TSU.
Miah Zuazua and Stephanie Garcia led the way for the Golden Eagles with two goals each. JoAnnie Ramos, Keely Hoppmeyer and Olivia Durham also contributed to the scoring with one goal each. Zuazua, Ola Akinniyi and Morgan Robertson were each credited with an assist.
TSU goal keeper Alexis Robles was credited with four saves in 45 minutes of play while teammate Mia Marshall was credited with TSU's only shot on goal (1).
Texas Southern will return to the pitch on Sunday, August 26th when they take on LSU-Shreveport at 1:00 p.m. in a non-conference road contest schedule to be played in Shreveport, La.
