TSUSports.com: Tigers lose nail biter to UAPB 74-72

HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Tigers 27 game home winning streak came to an end on Monday night as they dropped a heartbreaker to the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions 74-72. The last time the Tigers fell at home was a 58-55 loss to Prairie View A&M on February 7, 2015.
After taking a three point advantage with 17 seconds remaining in the contest after two successful Derrick Bruce free throws (72-69) UAPB subsequently tied the game at 72 on a Martaveous McKnight three point basket in which TSU was also called for a foul.

After a technical foul was assessed on the Tigers bench McKnight went to the free throw and connected on 2-of-3 free throws to give UAPB a two point lead at 74-72 which would end up being the games' final score.

Texas Southern was led in scoring by Derrick Bruce who contributed 25 points five rebounds and one steal while teammate Donte Clark (pictured above) scored 21 points while also grabbing seven rounds.

TSU will now get set to close out the first half of league play as they travel to face Alabama A&M(Jan. 27) and Alabama State (Jan. 29) on the road.
