HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Tigers got back into the winners column on Saturday with a 86-75 home win over Jackson State.
TSU placed a total of three players in double figures as Donte Clark led the way with 26 points followed by Demontrae Jefferson (25), and Trayvon Reed (21).

Texas Southern took a 40-34 advantage into the break as they shot 43 percent from the field in the games' first stanza.

The Tigers improved their shooting from the floor in the second half going 15-of-28 good for 53 percent.

Defensively Texas Southern forced 10 Jackson State turnovers which turned into 14 points for the Tigers on the offensive end of the floor.

"I thought we did a good job of executing on both ends of the floor in the second half," said TSU head coach Mike Davis. "Our goal moving forward is to be the best basketball team that we can be when the SWAC Tournament starts next month."

Texas Southern will have a day off before returning to the court to host Grambling State on Monday, February 12 at the HPE Arena at 8:00 pm.
