HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Tigers baseball took a 1-0 series lead over Prairie View A&M on Friday with a 4-1 victory at Mac Gregor Park.
TSU led 3-1 after four innings and never looked back from there. Texas Southern's Mason Furlong picked up the win as he pitched 5.0 innings with six strikeouts, while allowing just one earned run to cross the plate in 26 batters faced.
Christian Sanchez, Keanu Van Kuren and Gaudencio Lucca each contributed an RBI as the Tigers put up just enough runs to keep the Panthers at bay for the duration of the game.
Texas Southern will face Prairie View A&M in game two of the series on Saturday, March 17 at 2:00 pm at Mac Gregor Park.
