ASHBURN, Va. – Former Texas Southern wide receiver Darvin Kidsy has signed with the Washington Redskins' practice squad, the team announced Sunday.

Kidsy was one of the Redskins' final cuts on Saturday, as all teams had to designate a 53-player active roster. Sunday, teams began the process of signing up to 10 players to the practice squad.

As a member of the practice squad, Kidsy will go through all of the standard preparation as players on the active roster, including all meetings and practices.

Practice squad players will primarily run opponents' plays in practice as part of the scout team to assist the active roster in preparation for upcoming games.

He's not eligible to play in regular season games as a member of the practice squad, but he'll be able to signed to the active roster at any time by the Redskins or any NFL team.

Last season for the Tigers Kidsy started in nine games tallying 38 receptions and 519 receiving yards good for an average of 13.7 yards per catch. He had a long reception of 61 yards and also contributed three touchdowns.
