Oliver Brown was a lot more than a track and football coach to many of his athletes.
He was a teacher. He was a role model. He was a motivator.
And to those in the community near Worthing, Brown was a father figure and positive male influence. The longtime coach was even called the "Godfather of Sunnyside."
Brown, who helped develop future All-Americans, Super Bowl winners, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and an Olympian, passed away Wednesday. He was 81.
