HOUSTON - Texas Southern moved a step closer toward clinching the SWAC Western Division title with an 11-1 win over Grambling State Friday afternoon.

TSU took advantage of multiple errors by Grambling (12-31, 2-14 SWAC), as the Lady Tigers (20-15, 11-5 SWAC) only needed seven hits to score their runs. The difference was a big third inning by TSU, who scored seven runs on four hits to push its lead from 4-0 to 11-0.

During the frame, Gisella Paranich smacked a ground-rule two-run double and was one of four players to collect a RBI in the frame.

Grambling's lone run came via a solo shot by Tia Coleman.

Jasmin Fulmore (9-3) got the win, allowing four hits and fanning three.

The two teams conclude their series Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at noon. TSU will honor its seven seniors between games.
