What games? Depends on how much money or help we can get. Where's the Bud Light sponsorship? haha

I thought this would be the year we finally participate in the SWAC/MEAC Classic .... oh well maybe next year lol. Why they picked MVSU over TxSU still baffles me. TxSU will always be more relevant than MVSU even if we lose every game in my honest opinion

Not sure why either, but they're using the "Former NFL players coaching at HBCUs" as a tagline

Interesting, well I was looking at the list of teams that have been invited since it's inception and four SWAC teams have yet to be invited.

I'm really expecting TSU to be invited within the next 3 years and for some reason I see them playing either FAMU or Howard when they do.

Schedule has been updated (http://www.tsuball.com/news/2013/8/6/FB_0806134519.aspx):
Houston, TX-Texas Southern made two changes to its 2013 football schedule. TSU will play Jackson State on the road on Thursday, September 19th at 6:30pm. The game was moved so it can be carried live on ESPNU.

The Tigers also moved the game against Southern University to Friday, November 1st at 8:00pm. There was a possible conflict with Major League Soccer. The Dynamo had that date set as a potential home playoff date.
TSU decided to move the game to Friday to better accommodate the fans.

"It was a better option than moving it to a Thursday night because it gives the fans in Houston an opportunity to finish out their work week and come to the game, and it will eliminate a two-day turn-around off work for fans traveling from Baton Rouge," said athletics director Dr. Charles McClelland. "Hopefully our decision works best for all parties involved."

The Tigers have five home games this season which will be played at BBVA Compass Stadium.

The gametime against Sam Houston State this weekend has been updated to reflect numerous different websites (including SHSU Bearkats athletic site and now TSU Tigers athletic site). Game time is set for 2pm instead of 6pm.

The only games we have a chance to win (or at least have close games) are Alabama A&M, Grambling, Valley, and Howard it looks like .... & I really want to beat Southern but they're a heavy fav this year.  **** Daydreaming about Basketball Season****

I'm trying to stay optimistic, but speaking with @[tsuball10], he feels similar as you do

I forgot to share this, but here are some photos from this year's Labor Day Classic: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tigerfansnet/sets/72157635340445142/

Here's some video from last night's game at Jackson State: http://espn.go.com/ncf/video?gameId=332622296

The second half was terrible. 11 total yards in the second half, the majority of which came on the last drive:
[attachment=42]

The defense played well against the pass, but terrible (all year long) against the run. The first JSU touchdown was a stroll (literally) of their QB Clayton Moore into the endzone. That should not be happening. Our players were wrapping up and putting big hits on JSU which has been an improvement from the first two games, but they got tired towards the end of the game.

The offense struggled, especially the o-line. Jay Christophe started the game and Jamal Small came in and lead the Tigers down for a successful drive. JSU made adjustments (QB contain when Small was in, man coverage when Christophe was in) which halted the offense. The blocked punt anyone should've been able to see coming as they were overloading the line. That momentum was carried into halftime by Jackston State. Porter also was pretty much contained all game (13 carries, 30 yards) and Perkins-Loving struggled as well (4 carries, 2 yards). The momentum + the adjustments + our failure to adjust are the reasons why we had such a poor showing in the second half.

Special teams were... well... special (except the kicker and punter -- those guys are awesome). This goes for both teams. How many flags were called for offsides on the kickoffs? At least 5! Discipline. Coverage. Blocking. They were all missing from the Special Teams.

I hate losing.
