It looks like Jasick is in Jacksonville and will be offered today.

Nelson I knew he wouldn't stay it was nice while it lasted TSU on to the next one!!! I say he gets the job over Jasick!!!

The only reason why he's not leaving is b/c he didn't get it ... some other guy I read is actually the top candidate.

Clearly his heart isn't with his head coaching position at TSU and that's not the way to build a dynasty.  Coach K, J. Calhoun, M. Izzo all been able to build dynasties at their perspective universities b/c there heart is in it and it's obvious.

I think now I want Mike gone.  Him being in Houston considering he tried to leave is not a good look for the program and will drag it down the drain.  For one quality recruits are going to be afraid to commit to TSU knowing in the back of their head this guy can leave any minute

I said here on the "Road to March Madness" forum weeks ago that it didn't seem as if Mike was content being at TSU and was up to something.

Nelson who should  be the HC for TSU if Mike leaves???

The guy that is the top candidate is some guy named Jasick as stated before!!!

I don't believe he wanted to leave. Honestly. He loves his influence over the program, his wife loves the city since she's from here I believe, and his son is working with John Lucas. Family > money.

Well how would you explain him interviewing with Jacksonville? I want to believe that but I can't without logical evidence.

Without actual evidence, my best guess is he wanted a pay raise. He was making $625k salary at UAB when he was fired with tiered bonus incentives up to $210k, depending on how far he made it into the NCAA Tournament. At TSU, he's currently making $200k with a max bonus of $172k (source)

Greed .... the downfall of human society. Nothing else to say smh lol

Lol if my salary was cut down to a third of what I'm used to making, I will damn sure seize any opportunity to get a pay raise lol

I get you Nelson but Mike is different lol. Lets keep it 100, he already has more than enough money to not have to work and live well.  So ideally it shouldn't be about the money at this point.  It should be about having the best platform to help develop fellow minority young men to be the best athletes and men they can be and where he's at now is that platform.

I thought the same thing when I got my first job out of college... "This is way more than enough money" and "I'll have a huge savings account in only a year" ... What happened is I started spending more. Same thing happens when rich husbands divorce poor wives... They're used to a lifestyle and disposable income. Mo money mo problems lol

Mo money mo problems.  But yea it's very possible he's in bad financial shape.  Rich people do go broke ... Allen Inverson, Fantasia, MC Hammer to name a few.  It's so easy to overspend and max out credit cards nowadays, so much to buy out there.

It's official, Jasick is the head coach at Jacksonville http://members.jacksonville.com/sports/basketball/2014-04-09/story/jacksonville-university-confirms-hiring-jasick-basketball-coach

I'd be a lot more hesitant to trust Max Edison's reporting in the future.
