TSUSports.com: Women's Basketball Starts Postseason Play Tuesday Night

• No. 2 Texas Southern will host No. 7 Arkansas-Pine Bluff inside the H&PE Arena on Tuesday, March 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the quarterfinal round of the 2020 Cricket Wireless SWAC Championship.
• Second-year head coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke returns to the TSU sidelines for the first time since 2012-13. She spent the 2012-13 season at TSU and led them to the SWAC Regular Season Championship for the first time in school history.

• Guard Ciani Cryor is averaging 18.2 points, 6.54 assists and 3.82 steals. Nationally, she ranks fourth in assists and fourth in steals per game.

• Head coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke is 35-27 all-time in the month of March and 4-3 at TSU. She has a 17-8 postseason record and is 1-1 at TSU. Overall, she's 9-3 in SWAC Tournament play.

• Since 2012, TSU is 9-6 in postseason play and has not advanced past the first round of SWAC Tournament action since 2018.
• Cooper-Dyke is 14-2 all-time against UAPB as she won both games against them in 2020. She is 2-0 all-time against UAPB in postseason play.

• Arkansas-Pine Bluff is led by Keyonia Harris' 10.7 points per game. Jayla Atmore averages 10 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game to lead the team. UAPB head coach Dawn Brown is 5-2 all-time in SWAC Tourney action and 1-0 against TSU.

• TSU graduate forward Niya Mitchell completed the trifecta as she was named the SWAC's Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year in addition to earning first team honors. A 5-10 graduate student from Bay City, Texas, Mitchell is averaging a double-double (16.1/11.6) and ranks seventh nationally in rebounding (11th in offensive rebounding). She has 16 double-doubles this season. Mitchell is tied for 18th, nationally, in steals.

• TSU was picked fifth in the Southwestern Athletic Conference preseason poll after finishing the 2018-19 season in fifth. TSU has a revamped roster with only five letterwiners retuning while they welcome nine newcomers and two redshirts.

• TSU's RPI through games played March 8 is a SWAC-leading 132.
