•The Texas Southern women’s basketball team will look to even the season series against Mississippi Valley as they will face them on Saturday in Itta Bena, Miss. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.

•Texas Southern (5-19 Overall, 4-9 SWAC) leads the all-time series since 2012-13, 20-2 as Head Coach Vernette Skeete is 2-1 against MVSU (3-23, 2-11). The Delta Devils won the first match-up this season, 70-69 inside the H&PE Arena.

•The Tigers are coming off a 68-62 loss to Southern on Monday inside the H&PE Arena.

•The Tigers were paced offensively by paced offensively by Tatyanna Clayburne who registered 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field. Jaida Belton registered a double double including 13 points and 10 boards while adding five blocks. Taniyah Lawson tallied 12 points, respectively.

•MVSU is coming off of a 67-59 win over Alabama State University at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome on Monday night.

•MVSU was led by Amberly Brown who registered 18 points, nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Lizzie Walker finished with 14 points, eight rebounds, three steals, and two blocks.

•The Delta Devils were predicted to finish twelfth in the SWAC Preseason Poll.

•The Tigers are led offensively by Lawson as she averages 11.1 points and 2.9 boards.

•Belton is the third leading blocker in the SWAC having 42 in 24 games played.

•The Tigers will have a lot to prove as they were selected to finish 11th in the Preseason SWAC Predicted Order of Finish.

• The Tigers brought in nine newcomers this year. However, they’ve lost nine letterwinners and feature a pair of new assistant coaches.
