HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Tigers Football team wrapped up spring practices on Saturday with the Annual Maroon and Grey game at Durley Stadium.
Texas Southern head coach Michael Haywood and his staff were pleased overall with the growth the Tigers Football team made over the course of the past several weeks.

"I thought we improved in our running game and our play action passing game," said Haywood. "I thought the new additions to our staff did a great job coaching. Coach Morris Watts has done a great job preparing our quarterbacks and Coach Michael Slater has done a tremendous job with our defensive lineman."

TSU quarterbacks Elijah Odum, Jay Christophe and Glen Cuiellette all shared time behind center during the scrimmage with each showing flashes of potential.

"We've been working really hard this spring," said Cuiellette. "No matter who's named the starter we've formed a brotherhood in the locker room and we're all here to support each other."

Texas Southern will kickoff the season at home on Saturday, September 1 versus UT-Permian Basin at BBVA Compass Stadium.
