TSUSports.com: TSU Baseball set to compete at Austin Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Texas Southern Tigers were selected to the Austin Regional for the 2018 NCAA Baseball Tournament as the No. 4 seed.

Texas Southern will face the No. 1 seed in the regional, the Texas Longhorns in its opening contest, which will begin at 8 p.m. CT on Friday June 1. The contest wll be broadcast live on the Longhorn Network.

The regional is a double-elimination format, with the winner of the opening contest advancing in the winner's bracket and the loser falling to the loser's bracket to play an elimination game.

Texas Southern captured its second consecutive Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball title last Sunday with a 18-3 win over Grambling State. The Tigers are making their third NCAA tournament appearance in four seasons.

Friday, June 1
Game 1: Texas A&M vs. Indiana at 4 p.m. CT
Game 2: Texas Southern vs. Texas at 8 p.m. CT

Saturday, June 2
Game 3: Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2 at 1:30 p.m. CT
Game 4: Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2 at 6 p.m. CT

Sunday, June 3
Game 5: Winner of Game 3 vs. Loser of Game 4 at 2 p.m. CT
Game 6: Winner of Game 5 vs. Winner of Game 4 at 8 p.m. CT

Monday, June 4
Game 7: Same teams as Game 6 at 6 p.m. CT (IF NECESSARY)
