The Texas Southern baseball team is back on the road for a three-game weekend series at Wichita State Friday-Sunday in Wichita, Kansas. This marks the first meeting between both schools.
TSU is coming off a two-game midweek series at No. 16 Oklahoma in which they dropped both games. The Tigers are still experimenting with their pitching rotation as a number of pitchers saw action over the past two days. On the offensive side, the Tigers look to have settled on a lineup as Roderick Coffee, Tyrese Clayborne, Justin Cooper and Oscar Ponce have been the most consistent batters as the quartet has combined for 29 hits, 12 RBI and 44 total bases. Coffee had a four-game hitting streak come to an end in the second game of the OU series.

Wichita State is under the direction of new skipper Eric Wedge, a former Shocker from 1987-89 and former Major League Baseball manager. The Shockers finished 1-2 in its opening series at Northwestern State last weekend as Hunter Gibson leads the team with a .333 average and four hits. Eddy Liam holds the lone win on the mound for the Shockers as he boasts a 1.13 ERA with 10 strikeouts. Projected game one starter Jake Hamilton leads the team with 13 strikeouts.
