History
TSU scored four different ways en route to its fourth straight win after a 61-7 homecoming win over Virginia University of Lynchburg Saturday inside Durley Stadium.
With the win, TSU has now won four straight games for the first time since 2014.

The Tigers jumped out to a 17–0 lead in the first quarter and carried a 37–3 advantage into halftime behind a balanced offensive effort and a relentless defense.

Texas Southern finished with 430 total yards, including 327 rushing yards on 42 carries as Athean Renfro and Jonathan rushed for 94 and 92 yards, respectively. The Tigers averaged 7.8 yards per rush and scored four times on the ground. Quarterbacks combined to complete 7 of 15 passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns, highlighted by a 69-yard scoring strike to Kerien Charlo in the first half.

Special teams also contributed, as TSU added a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown from Chaunzavia Lewis to cap an explosive day.

Defensively, the Tigers overwhelmed the visiting Dragons, limiting them to 87 total yards and –13 rushing yards on 25 attempts. Virginia Lynchburg managed one touchdown through the air but was intercepted three times and sacked repeatedly.

TSU also had an opportunity to provide a glimpse into the future as several true freshmen displayed their talents led by defensive back Jaquavus Hallman's two interceptions, including one for a touchdown. Redshirt freshman Aaron Kizzee led all tacklers with five stops.

Texas Southern controlled possession for nearly 37 minutes, outgaining VUL by more than 340 yards while forcing multiple turnovers.

TSU is back in action on Nov. 1 against Alcorn State inside Shell Energy Stadium.
