HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Tigers scored early and often en route to a 106-71 dominating win over Alabama A&M on Saturday night at the HPE Arena.
TSU's Derrick Bruce paced the Tigers offensive attack as he tallied a game high 35 points to go along with 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Fellow teammate Demontrae Jefferson wasn't going to be left out of the action as he racked up 28 points, followed by Donte Clark's 21 and Cainan McClelland's 10 points.

"We're trying to adapt to a different style of play," said TSU head coach Mike Davis. "We've had several changes to our roster over the course of the past few days and now we're trying to get better each and every game moving forward."

Texas Southern led 50-40 at the break and followed up a hot shooting first half with an equally hot second half of shooting from the field. TSU shot 61 percent from the floor for the game including a 64 percent showing from three point range (16-of-25).

Individually, Bruce was impressive shooting the ball for TSU as he went 9-of-12 from beyond the arc. TSU outscored AAMU inside the paint 44-36 and forced 12 Bulldogs' turnovers which turned into 23 points on the offensive end of the floor.

Texas Southern returns to the HPE Arena host its final regular season home game on Monday, February 26th versus Alabama State at 8:00 pm.
