NEW ORLEANS – The Tigers of Texas Southern University returned to Louisiana on Wednesday, where they fell 13-1 at Tulane in non-conference action.

Texas Southern took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning but was unable to produce any runs from that point on. Three consecutive TSU batters drew walks before Keanu Van Kuren knocked a sacrifice fly to score Nic Garza from third base.

Alex Carrillo started on the mound for the Tigers and pitched three and two-thirds innings while striking out three batters. He was charged for nine runs, though only five of those runs were earned.

Tulane tied the game in the second inning and then opened a big lead in the bottom of the fourth as the Green Wave scored eight runs in the frame.

Victor Cruz and Christian Sanchez had base hits for the Tigers.

The Tigers return to action Tuesday when they head to Austin to face the Texas Longhorns. The game will start at 6:30 p.m. and will be aired on the Longhorn Network.
