AUSTIN, Texas –The No. 4 seed in the Austin regional Texas Southern struggled in a 10-0 loss to No. 1 seed Texas in the first round of the NCAA baseball tournament on Friday.
The Tigers fell behind early. Texas scored two runs in the second inning, making the score 2-0. The Longhorns added four runs in the third, to give itself a 6-0 advantage.
Texas added three runs in the fifth, and cruised from that point, for the ten-run victory.
Texas Southern struggled offensively in the defeat, generating just five hits, with five different Tigers recording a hit in the loss.
Texas Southern will play Indiana tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. CT in an elimination game.
