NORMAL, Ala. – The Tigers of Texas Southern University keep on rolling.

Led by Jeremy Combs' seventh double-double in as many games, the Tigers won their 10th consecutive game Monday, defeating Alabama A&M 66-61 on the road.

Combs scored 15 points and pulled in 10 rebounds to help lead the Tigers (18-11, 13-3 SWAC), who have not lost since Jan. 26. Jalyn Patterson matched his teammate with 15 points off the TSU bench; the 6-foot-1 guard also grabbed eight rebounds.

John Jones chipped in nine points for the Tigers, going 3-for-5 from 3-point range. Tyrik Armstrong and Eden Ewing scored eight points apiece for Texas Southern.

Andre Kennedy led Alabama A&M (5-25, 4-12 SWAC) with 26 points and 11 rebounds.

The Tigers trailed by nine points at halftime but scored the first eight points of the second half to cut Alabama A&M's lead to 32-31 with 17:10 remaining in the second half. Devocio Butler scored all five of his points in the game during that run.

Both teams kept trading baskets until the midway point of the half, when TSU scored seven unanswered points between the 11:40 and 6:54 marks of the period to take a 47-41 lead. Though Alabama A&M would eventually get within one possession of the lead, another 7-0 run by the Tigers put the visitors ahead 59-50 with 2:42 remaining.

Though both teams hovered around 60 percent shooting from the free throw line, the Tigers went to the stripe considerably more often during the game. The Tigers made 17 of 28 free throw attempts (60.7 percent), while the Bulldogs only shot 10 free throws, making six.

Butler handed out four assists for the Tigers, while Combs grabbed a game-high five steals for Texas Southern.

The Tigers return home for their last two regular season games, beginning with a Thursday contest against Alcorn State. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
