MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Lady Tigers of Texas Southern University ran their current winning streak to eight matches Saturday with sweeps over Jackson State and Mississippi Valley State at the Southwestern Athletic Conference's October Volleyball Roundup.

TSU (13-8, 10-3 SWAC) stretched its lead in the conference's West Division to two and one-half games ahead of Arkansas–Pine Bluff. The Lady Tigers conclude the weekend with a match against East Division leader and host Alabama State at 10 a.m. Sunday.

TSU 3, Jackson State 0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-20)

Three Texas Southern players posted double-digit kill totals as the Lady Tigers downed Jackson State (4-23, 3-9 SWAC) at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome during day two of the Alabama State University-hosted SWAC Volleyball Roundup.
Cassidy Jannson paced TSU with 12 kills and five digs. Kirby Anderson and Alexis Austin posted 11 kills each, with Anderson figuring in on seven total blocks. Asia Howard dished 28 helpers, and Erin Adams led the defense with 12 digs.

Camry Dabney and Alexandra Burney each spiked 10 kills for Jackson State. Terri Irving (15) and Sapphire Simpson (10) combined for 25 assists, and Laura Funk posted six digs to lead JSU in the category.

TSU 3, Mississippi Valley State (25-14, 25-21, 25-19)

Kirby Anderson scored 11 kills for Texas Southern as the Lady Tigers notched their eighth consecutive win win, this one at the expense of Mississippi Valley State (6-22, 4-9) during day two of the SWAC Volleyball Roundup at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.

Nicole Robinson and Alexis Austin posted eight kills each to aid the Lady Tigers' winning effort. Cassidy Jannson notched a team-best 14 digs to go with six kills. Asia Howard (19) and Breanna York (11) combined for 30 assists, and Howard had 12 digs. Nia Stone put up four kills and four blocks.

Taylor Selfridge recorded another double-double for the Devilettes with 12 digs and 10 kills. Kalin Barnes and Tylia Dixon each netted six kills, with Barnes picking up 12 digs. Jaime Polk led with 24 assists, tops among all players.
