HOUSTON- In a matchup between two undefeated teams in Southwestern Athletic Conference play it was the Texas Southern Lady Tigers continuing their hot streak picking up their fourth win in row downing Alabama A&M 1-0.
The game was a back and forth defensive struggle for both teams as TSU had seven shots on goal to Alabama A&M's three.

It was Gia Hodges who broke the deadlock scoring in the 59th minute of the contest.

"Two games and two goals is not a bad average" said Coach Kathryn Balogun. "The key was getting into the box, getting that extra touch and then putting it away and that's exactly what Gia did, she got in the box picked her a spot and found the back of the net."

The Lady Tigers return to the pitch October 7th at 1:00 p.m. for a showdown with the Alabama State Lady Hornets.

"They always have a solid midfield, some good forwards, and their goalkeeper does a really good job, so it has to be solid performance for us all the way around," added Balogon.

With the win on Friday TSU currently sits as the only remaining unbeaten team in league play.
