MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Texas Southern women's soccer kept its SWAC momentum rolling with a 2-1 road victory over Alabama State on Sunday afternoon at the ASU Soccer Complex.

The Lady Tigers struck early and held firm late, securing their third conference win of the season behind goals from Bailey Buckner and Kamara Bradley.

Buckner opened the scoring in the 8th minute with her first goal of the season, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to give TSU a 1-0 lead. Bradley added insurance in the 70th minute, finishing a clean assist from Alyssa Taylor to make it 2-0.

Alabama State managed to pull one back in the 87th minute on a penalty kick by McKinley Hacker, but the Lady Tigers held on through the final whistle.

Texas Southern outshot the Lady Hornets 14-6 and earned six corner kicks to Alabama State's four. Emeyda Cruz and Azucenq Martinez led the attack with multiple goal attempts, while goalkeeper Alessandra Bastidas earned her fourth win of the season.

The Lady Tigers showcased their depth once again, rotating in 22 players and maintaining control with 56% possession. The back line, anchored by Melissa Knutson and Clara Dotigny, kept Alabama State's offense quiet for most of the match.

With the win, TSU continues to climb the SWAC standings and will return home for a 4:30 p.m. kickoff on Friday, October 17, as part of Homecoming Week festivities.
