The Texas Southern baseball team hits the road once again for a two-game series at the University of Oklahoma on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. The Tigers are 0-3 all-time against the Sooners.
In the Tigers' first series of the season against New Mexico State, they were swept in four games, leaving them to start off the year with an 0-4 record. Opposite to the team's end result in their opening series, there were a few bright spots which allowed them to maintain their competitiveness in certain moments.

Outfielder Roderick Coffee (R-Fr.) caught fire against the Aggies as his .727 average, eight hits, four home runs, seven RBI, 20 total bases and a 2.568 OPS lead the offense. He has a three-game hitting streak going into his team's visit to Norman.

Infielders Tyrese Clayborne (Jr.) and Justin Cooper (Jr.) also had a strong weekend as Clayborne batted .538 average with seven hits, a double, eight RBIs and a stolen base, while Cooper racked up five hits, a double, two runs, eight total bases and a .375 average in the last four games. Rolling behind the golden trio is utility man Oscar Ponce, whose four hits, a double, three RBI, two runs, two walks and .286 average round out the respective Texas Southern offense.

The Tigers' pitching goes in to Norman looking to improve on the mound. In the last series at New Mexico State, the pitching corps allowed more than 10 runs each, with the highest amount (15) coming from the last encounter on Feb. 16.
