TSU senior guard Tyrik Armstrong received All-SWAC First Team honors while sophomore forward Yahuza Rasas earned second team honors as the league announced its 2019-20 all-conference teams Thursday afternoon.

Armstrong had the keys to the offense as he averaged a team-high 14.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.8 steals this season. The senior from Houston scored in double figures in 24 of 28 games played this season with a high of 32 at Nevada. Rasas came into his own in his first season at TSU as he posted nine double-doubles while leading the team with 8.2 rebounds and was fourth with 9.8 points per game. The sophomore from St. Louis, Mo. had 12 games with 10-plus rebounds and was a two-time SWAC Player of the Week. He grabbed a season-high 16 rebounds versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff and 20 points versus Jackson State.

The Tigers finished the season 11-1 at home and 16-16 as they placed third in the SWAC.
