COLLEGE STATION – Texas Southern coach Michael Robertson knows his team is the fourth seed in a four-team NCAA tournament regional, but he has a message for anyone doubting the Tigers’ abilities against Texas A&M.
“We deserve to be here, that’s for sure,” Robertson said.
The Tigers certainly do, as Southwestern Athletic Conference champions with a 31-17 record. Eighth-ranked A&M and the Tigers open NCAA tournament play starting at 6 p.m. Friday at Blue Bell Park.
