It's starting to feel like March Madness in December for Texas Southern.

The non-conference schedule is winding down, but more importantly, there are a few big games coming up for the defending SWAC champions. As far as building an NCAA Tournament resume is concerned, these may be the biggest non-conference games on tap.

TSU will leave Houston for the road once again for dates at comparable mid-majors in Central Michigan on Dec. 12 and Iona on Dec. 16. Head coach Mike Davis notes the Hampton game on New Year's Eve, too.

I'm a bit concerned, we keep losing to what I consider to be mediocre teams. We're not looking as good as last year ... I hope they make some drastic changes soon somewhere. And yes I know 99% of our game have been away from home but I guess if we played those same teams at home we would win .... I don't know but we only won one game

I don't like how we've played inconsistently, but at the same time a part of me wants to say we're losing so that we can continue to schedule respectable non-conference foes. These are all tournament teams, so we should be ready for nonconference play.

The scheduling was not good this year to me. We should have some guarantee win games in the mix and the PV game should never be played when the students are not on campus or in town (30 - 40% of TSU students live outside of the Houston area). That's easily 2K missing right there.

And we can't continue to have our key players not showing up until December.

I don't think we'll have any guarantee games as long as Mike Davis is HC. He wants the guys used to playing the big marquee programs and I believe that as a recruiting tactic, he can tell people that they'll be on plenty of televised games. I honestly prefer this over playing a cupcake schedule like some Alabama teams tend to do.

Housing move in is Sunday so we might be able to get some of those people in the door for Saturday's game, but like you, I prefer that game later in the season like in February.

We've been a full roster since Griffin joined, although I did see Christian McCoggle on the bench in one of the recent games.
