Quinton Bell, a multi-sport standout at Costa Mesa High, will play football and compete in track and field at Texas Southern University in Houston, the Mustangs announced on Friday.
Bell, who played outside linebacker and wide receiver, earned All-CIF Southern Section Southern Division honors in his senior season, despite only playing six of 11 football games. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Bell overcame a hip flexor injury and a partially collapsed lung to lead Costa Mesa to an undefeated Orange Coast League title, the program's first since 2008.
