Texas Southern University head baseball coach Michael Robertson was announced as a member of the 2020 Prairie View A&M Sports Hall of Fame Class.

This will mark the second collegiate Hall of Fame honor for Robertson as he was also inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame of his alma mater, Huston-Tillotson, in 2017.

Robertson resurrected the PVAMU program in the mid-2000s as he led them to conference championships in 2006 and 2007 and is second all-time at PVAMU for wins by a baseball coach (163). He posted four 30-win seasons in his six seasons as head coach while participating in two NCAA Baseball Regionals and was crowned Black College Baseball National Champions in 2006. He had a 20-win turnaround in 2004 and participated in four consecutive SWAC Tournament Finals from 2005-08.

Robertson made the move to TSU prior to the 2009 season and made an immediate impact as the Tigers won the SWAC Western Division Title in 2010. The 2010 team's 30-26 record was the best in TSU's history at the time. Five years later, the 2015 team won a school-record 31 games during its championship season as the Houston native has six 30-win seasons on the Division I level under his belt. The 2015 championship run opened the floodgates of consistent success at TSU as Robertson led the Tigers to the 2017 and 2018 SWAC Tournament Championships. He has had the Tigers in the finals of the SWAC Tournament in four of the past five tournaments and has participated in three NCAA Baseball Regionals.

Robertson has served 12 seasons as TSU's head coach and holds the most SWAC Championships (3) in school history and is second all-time in wins at TSU with 279. Robertson has won 20-plus games every year since arriving at TSU. He was well on his way to continuing the streak in 2020 but the season was called off due to COVID-19. TSU was on the verge of big things during the season as they knocked off No. 4 Mississippi State on the road and won its first two conference series.
