PINE BLUFF, Ark. – Niya Head scored 11 points and grabbed 11 boards as Arkansas-Pine Bluff upset Texas Southern 49-45 to hand the Lady Tigers their first in-conference loss of the season.
UAPB, which trailed 31-25 at the half, clawed back into it during the third quarter, briefly taking the lead before Texas Southern's Artavia Ford nailed a 3-pointer to send the Lady Tigers into the fourth up 42-40.

In the final quarter, Texas Southern's offense sputtered as the Lady Tigers made only one shot in the frame. UAPB scored nine points largely compliments of Head and Destiny Brewton, to overtake the Lady Tigers in crunch time.

Shawntayla Harris put in 9 points and 10 rebounds for UAPB. Ford led TSU with 16 points and 7 rebounds. TSU's Joyce Kennerson scored 5 points on 1-of-9 shooting.
