HOUSTON- Some of the biggest names in college football arrived to the campus of Texas Southern University on Thursday as the Tigers Football program hosted the first Michael Haywood Round-Up Camp at Alexander Durley Stadium.
The event, which was attended by over 300 student-athletes from across the state of Texas served as an opportunity for student-athletes and coaches to interact and work on key football skills under the direction of some of the top football instructors in the country.

Ohio State's Urban Meyer, Arizona's Rich Rodriguez, and new Texas head coach Tom Herman attended the camp which showcased some of the talent here in the state.

"We've known Coach Haywood for quite some time," said Meyer. 'And with so many great players in the state of Texas we wanted to be here. Sometimes it can be tough for them to get to our campus to see us so anytime a school like Ohio State can get the opportunity to show our school colors and see these student-athletes and have them see us it's great for everyone involved."

Texas Southern Football hosted camps on June 6th and June 8th with multiple colleges participating. Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Bret Bielema and some of his staff attended the camp on June 6th.

"It's a tremendous opportunity for us to be able to host a football camp of this magnitude," said TSU's Haywood. "We've got a wide variety of student-athletes here along with some of the best college football programs in the country."
