SUGAR LAND, Texas – The Tigers of Texas Southern University concluded their midweek series of games against Big 12 Conference opponents Wednesday with a 10-2 loss to the Texas Longhorns.

Kamren Dukes went 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Trey LeBlanc and Jose Cabreja knocked two hits apiece for the Tigers (16-22). Cabreja and Dukes knocked back to back RBIs in the top of the sixth inning to cut the Texas lead to 6-2.

Mason Furlong struck out six Longhorns over four innings. He looked solid through the first three, being charged for only an unearned run in the first inning, before Texas scored twice in the fourth and three times in the fifth, with the first two runs of the fifth going to Furlong.

Michael McCann picked up three hits for the Longhorns, while Nico O'Donnell earned the win in relief with two scoreless innings.

TSU reliever Daniel Vasquez pitched one and one-third scoreless innings, while Robert Loza allowed only an unearned run in two-thirds of an inning.

With three hits, Dukes stretched his hitting streak to 23 consecutive games; he has also reached base safely in 30 consecutive contests.

Wednesday's game was played at Constellation Field, home of the independent minor league Sugar Land Skeeters.

The Tigers return to action Friday when they open a three-game series at Prairie View A&M. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 3 p.m.
