HOUSTON – Texas Southern's home baseball game against Southern that was rained out on March 5 will be played Sunday, May 14, at McGregor Park in Houston.

The playoff outcome remains unsettled for four of the five teams in the Southwestern Athletic Conference's West Division without the completion of the league schedule, necessitating the makeup of the March contest.

Texas Southern (16-30, 14-9 SWAC) can clinch a share of the SWAC West Division championship and claim the No. 1 seed ahead of Grambling in the conference postseason tournament with a win Sunday.

The rival factions of Tigers split their regular-season series, but TSU owns the tiebreaker by virtue of having a better head-to-head record against third-place Prairie View. (TSU defeated the Panthers five times in six games, while Grambling went 4-2 against the Panthers.)

Sole possession of first place and the No. 1 seed in the West puts Grambling faithful in the unusual – and uncomfortable, based on social media posts – position of having to cheer for their in-state rivals from the southern Louisiana.

Joining the TSU fan base on Sunday – at least in spirit if not in person – will be the players and fans of Arkansas–Pine Bluff. A win would pull the Jaguars (15-25, 9-14 SWAC) into a fourth-place tie with UAPB, with Southern owning the tiebreaker due to taking four of six games from the Golden Lions.

First pitch between the Tigers and Jaguars is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday.
