Being in a SWAC gym means sometimes there is a party going on in the stands beside the game.

Texas Southern head coach Mike Davis isn't expecting a festive welcome when the Tigers are back on the road again.

After three consecutive home games and three standout wins, the Tigers leave Friday for a date at Jackson State on Saturday in Mississippi.

This isn't quite like the first quarter of the season when TSU spent nearly every game playing at a Division I powerhouse. The first-place Tigers (4-11 overall, 3-0 in SWAC play) are now one of the teams to beat.

I love this

"We try to play differently than most SWAC teams," Davis said. "We try to play with a rhythm. But most of the time we play with a different rhythm than everybody else. So you have to kind of adjust to that and not get suckered in to that kind of play."

Absolutely. SWAC-play is like street ball at times and then to try and transition by tournament time to everyone else's style is difficult.
