Texas Southern University’s Division of University Advancement announces the launch of a 1927 Founder’ Campaign, to celebrate the 1927 founding year of Texas Southern University. The University’s Advancement Division, along with TSU’s National Alumni Association and many former students and friends of the University, are partnering to address one of the university’s most pressing needs, STUDENT SUCCESS. And for only $19.27 you can be a part of this exciting initiative.
To celebrate the 1927 founding year of TSU and to coincide with Homecoming 2015, the university is instituting this campaign to reach first-time givers as well as recurring donors. We want each member of the Tiger faithful to help a student who needs that ‘extra little bit” to continue their education. This campaign also allows individuals to give an additional $19.27 in the name of a loved one, in honor of a friend, a colleague or favorite faculty/staff member, etc. Your name will be added to our Founders Donor Roll to be displayed daily on our website.
Remember, nearly 48% of our incoming freshmen and sophomore students are the first in their families to attend college, First Generation. These eager young minds need extra support to navigate academic, social and institutional paths due to lack of exposure. Your generous gift of $19.27 can make a direct difference between a college degree and a lifetime of struggle. Let’s lift up our cubs and bolster their collegiate lives so that they can become the strong and fearless Texas Southern Tigers of tomorrow.
