HOUSTON-The Texas Southern University Men's and Women's Basketball teams were presented with Proclamations at Houston's City Council Meetings on Tuesday, March 28th.
After remarkable post season runs by both teams' members of City Council officially proclaimed it to be "Texas Southern University Men's and Women's Basketball Day."
"We're very proud of the outstanding accomplishments of our team," said TSU head coach Johnetta Hayes-Perry. "We look forward to continuing to represent TSU with class and pride."
"We had a great season and our goal is to get right back here next year," said TSU head coach Mike Davis. "We couldn't be happier to represent this great University and the City of Houston."
Last season marked the first time in the history of the program that the Texas Southern Women's basketball team qualified for the NCAA Tournament.
The Men's Basketball team made their 7th NCAA Tournament appearance and their third appearance in the last four seasons.
